How limited editions work

The single cut principle
A roll of printed Japanese cotton, bought as a run end from a wholesaler, yields eight pouches. Not nine, not ten: eight. When the last one sells, the run closes, and the fabric will not be bought again because it no longer exists in the catalogue.
It is a constraint, and it is also what makes these pieces interesting: nobody else will have exactly the same one.
Numbering
Every limited edition piece carries a woven label sewn into the side seam, hand numbered: 1/8, 2/8, and so on. The number cannot be chosen, it follows the making order.
Custom made pieces
That is the other half of this category. You pick the model from the shop, then the outer fabric and the lining among the cuts available in the studio. A photo of the finished piece is sent to you before it ships, and if something does not match, the piece is remade.
Lead time is one to two weeks depending on the queue. Specific requests (modified dimensions, an extra pocket, fabric you supply) can be discussed through the contact form before ordering.
Frequently asked questions
Why do some runs never come back? +
Because the fabric was bought as a single cut, often a roll end or a Japanese import with no restock. Once it is cut, there is no more. The model may return in another fabric, but that exact run is finished.
Are the pieces numbered? +
Yes, by hand, on a woven label sewn into the side seam. The number and the run size appear on it (3/8 for example).
How does a custom order work? +
You confirm the order, which reserves your slot in the studio queue. You then receive an email to choose the model, the fabric and the lining among the available cuts. The piece is sewn in one to two weeks, photographed, then shipped.
Can I supply my own fabric? +
Yes, for pouches and cases. Allow enough yardage and a sewing grade cotton. The best way is to discuss it through the contact form before ordering.
What is the lead time for a custom piece? +
One to two weeks of making depending on the queue, then 2 to 4 tracked days in France, 4 to 8 days across Europe. You receive a photo of the piece before it ships.
