Pochettes

A pouch is the object you open ten times a day. The ones from the studio are quilted or pieced strip by strip, lined in cotton or coated canvas depending on use, and closed with a hand-set zip. Small runs, fabrics that do not always come back.

Choosing your pouch

+

The most useful piece in the studio

It is the one you give as a gift, the one you buy for yourself without thinking, the one you end up owning three of. A well sewn pouch holds cables, travel makeup, pencils, papers, and it survives years at the bottom of a bag if the seams hold.

Three different constructions

Quilted

Two layers of cotton with wadding between them, stitched in diamonds. The result is slightly bouncy and cushions knocks, which is what you want for carrying something fragile.

Pieced from strips

Cotton strips cut then sewn back together one by one before the pouch is assembled. It is slow, it is what costs the most in time, and it produces a gradient no print can match.

Simple lined

The most direct construction, the lightest, the most affordable. Perfect as an extra pouch inside an already loaded bag.

Choosing a lining

Plain cotton for what stays dry (papers, cables, pencils). Coated canvas as soon as there is a tube, a bottle or a balm: it wipes clean in one gesture and protects the outside if something leaks.

Care

Hand wash in lukewarm water, dry flat. On coated models, a damp sponge inside is enough. A gentle iron on the reverse brings back the first day look.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a pouch and a case? +

At Jellyxia, a pouch is flat and slips into a bag, a case has a flat base and stands on its own. The pouch is extra storage, the case is the main container (makeup, pencils, toiletries).

Is a coated lining useful? +

Yes as soon as there is a leak risk: balm, cream, a pen that bleeds. Coated canvas wipes clean with a sponge where a cotton lining stains permanently.

Are the zips sturdy? +

They are metal or nylon zips on wide tape, sewn between two layers of fabric and topstitched. That is the part we never cut corners on: a zip that fails makes the whole pouch useless.

Can a pouch go in the machine? +

Uncoated models, yes, at 30 degrees in a mesh bag. Coated models are hand washed outside and sponged inside, so the coating does not lift.

Do limited editions come back? +

No. A limited edition corresponds to a fabric cut bought once. When the run sells out the model may return in another fabric, but never in that one.
